Farewell ToMR
The Tour of Margaret River has been the Queen event on the calendar for 4Five+ AC since we launched in 2021. ToMR has provided fantastic opportunities for our members to race both in female and mixed teams, and our club is grateful for the support of Ride WA - the crew & community behind so many great WA cycling events. While we are sad to wave farewell to ToMR, we are also excited to see what lies ahead. We take this moment to reflect on the journey we have shared, because …

2021

The photo at Bather’s Beach by Damien Wyer was a brave statement. It was a long way from a traditional cycling team photo, but in our inaugural year we were all about challenging stereotypes around ageing. We had great support from coach Bob Addy and soigneur Kate Godde. The collective team age was 300+, and we were super-proud to finish 4th in Women’s A.

Team 4F+ Mixers (aka Famous Five): Greg Murray, Julian Johnson, Vanessa Johnson, Jon Hanson, Adam Ralph
2022 was a winning tour in many ways. Kate Godde had a cracker of a race, taking home a bunch of jerseys with great team support. The 4F Mixers took out (unofficial) awards for best podium shirts and banter. Mo’s race report is still one of the best I have ever read.

A new format for ToMR in 2024, with Grand pursuits and age category jerseys galore. Both Sarah McLachlan and Giselle Hosgood needed to make some room in their wardrobes for new jerseys!
