Mission Possible

Happy New Year. Bring on 2026 🎉

2026 is going to be another huge year for cycling in Western Australia, and 4Five+ AC is hitting the ground pedalling.

The second edition of the AusCycling Road National Championships will be staged in Perth next week. The club is super-excited to have a squadra of 25 riders competing in 4F colours across club team events, and more in the Steadyrack Gran Fondo!

This year we are fielding five all female teams across 120+, 150+, and 180+ categories in the Team Time Trial on Wednesday 7th January. Building the teams was a logistical challenge as the regulations stipulate primary club members only, add-on members only if the primary club isn’t fielding a team in the category - and then balancing the ages and abilities to provide a great race experience for our members! . 4F will also have two female 150+ teams in the Club Criterium on Friday 9th January in Northbridge.

4Five+ is a ‘yes and’ type of club. We respect our ‘add-on’ members’ allegiances to their primary clubs, and strive to provide female-specific support and opportunities that might not be available elsewhere. Promoting women’s participation in racing is one of our core goals, and we are thrilled to have some of our eastern states racing sisters joining us for fast & fun times on the criterium circuit! We also wish our members competing for their primary clubs the best of racing - shout outs to those racing for South Perth, Roues Chaudes, Sunshine Coast, & Byron Bay clubs to name a few 🤩 The 4Five+ racing contingent is strong and it is fantastic to see the growth in the number of women pinning on a number. I hope our visibility inspires more women to ‘be what you can see’ 🔥

And then there is G R A V E L.

The prospect of the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships (GWC) being hosted in Nannup in October looms large on the WA racing calendar. 4Five+ are building a strategy to support our large squadra of gravel racing members in the year ahead: training rides, a Nannup training camp (March), Tiger Tracks Gravel (April - perfect for honing your race craft), and GWC accommodation opportunities. Stay tuned to the 4F Socials if you are a gravel enthusiast!
